The intro sequence is intended to allow the player to become familiar with the setting of SCP: Containment Breach.

DescriptionEdit

At the beginning, the player is in their cell. The player has to read the leaflet on the table to their right. It describes that the player is there for a month as a D-Class. Then, the doors to the cell open, having a guard outside to escort the player to SCP-173's containment chamber. This is the only time the player sees the Site with lights fully functional. The player and the escort stop in a room before the chamber, then the guard tells the player to follow the voice on the intercom and that he will "probably be fine". The player will then enter the room, where the original intro started.

The player stands outside the chamber of SCP-173, with two other D-Class personnel. The player is immediately ordered to enter the containment chamber by the intercom voice. If the player does not enter, they will be warned that failure to comply will result in their termination. If the player still does not enter, then the door will close and the guard will shoot and kill the player. Upon entering the chamber the doors will close, and then a malfunction will cause the doors to re-open.

Within a few seconds the facility's lights begin to fail. SCP-173 then brutally murders the two other D-Class. SCP-173 will murder the player if he is too close when the lights go out. After killing the two other D-Class personnel, SCP-173 will appear on the balcony that the guard is on, with the guard shooting at SCP-173. As the lighting system completely fails, SCP-173 kills the guard, and is then heard escaping up into a ventilation shaft. The backup lights go on, revealing a fallen vent cover and a destroyed banister. The player is then left to fend for their self in the dark. At this point, the intercom voice is heard on the Site's intercom system stating that the site has is currently experiencing multiple containment breaches, interjected/followed by gunfire and multiple explosions, from this point begins the real game.

The introduction can be skipped before starting the game by disabling it.
